TIPS and TRICKS

Here are a few tips you can use to manually remove pesky spyware/adware:

Windows XP/95/98:

MSCONFIG

http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/

You can use this utility to see what programs are starting and disable them one at a time to see if they are legit or not.  I recommend that you look at this when you are doing your weekly scans just to verify that you  don't have anything still hogging valuable processor power.  Windows 2000/NT did not come with this utility but follow the link above and go to the bottom of the page and there is a very insightful explanation and workaround.
