SPYWAREBLASTER OK, I will keep this simple. Basically when you get spyware/adware it installs into your registry (registry is the dewy decimal system for the operating system to know where everything is and how to retrieve it). What this program does is put a simple kill bit in the registry. Thus, when the spyware tries to install it thinks it is already there and does nothing....kind of sweet. The hugest thing is that it is free but, you have to manually update it like once a week or two. The greatest thing is that it does not need to stay running. You run the program, update its definitions, enable the new protections and then close the program. Simple huh!! Going GEEK: This is the only program that actually protects against Active X spyware/adware. Active X is the scripting language used my Microsoft. |
