BHODEMON This program is very simple and great to have for trouble shooting and check-ups every now and then. BHO stands for Browser Help Object. An example of a BHO would be when you are surfing the net and click on a PDF file and it opens adobe right in the browser so you can view the file (without asking you). What some slick companies do is slide BHOs onto your machine, commonly know as search bars, and then use them to target you for advertisements or log your key strokes to determine what ads to send you. Going GEEK: Since this program doesn't update too often (no need) and it is easy to install/uninstall., I use it to clean out the system then remove it. Periodically I reinstall to check for anything that might have slipped in. You can leave it running and it will protect you in real time but, I don't suggest it. |
